An amazing high-end speakerAug 23, 2013
I have had the RF-7ii speakers for 3 years. I have RC-64 center and rf-62 for surrounds. Driving them is a 200w x 5 channels Outlaw power amp.
If you've read my my other reviews you will know that I am very picky with stuff like this. All I can say is WOW.
I have cranked these speakers up to 112db at 8 feet with no audible breakup (painful, yes, but impressive!). Of course, we usually listen to music and movies at normal levels. These speakers sound incredibly full all low volume. I eliminated my subwoofer (try listening to the fish tank scene in Finding Nemo - cranked the bass will knock you out of your seat and suck the air out of your chest (WITHOUT a sub!). We listen to everything from rock to country to pop to classical. We use this set up mostly for home theater and it just sounds amazing. We watch a lot of music content (Dancing with the Stars, CMA awards, etc.) and the sound quality is amazing. Crisp, clear, full, are the words that come to mind. I'm also a rock guitar player and love my music really loud. These speakers remind me of the old school party speakers with 12" woofers. The dual 10" drivers really deliver the goods. Mids are really punchy and guitar leads really scream. The horns make easy work of cymbals, etc. (I love a nice crisp "tsa-tsa-tsa-tsa" cymbal sound. With my power amp you'd have to have a PC-Ultra sub to even feel/hear it - so you don't really even need a subwoofer (I got rid of my 250W 12" sub because these speakers overpower it - easily). Their high efficiency lets you drive them with a modest amp, but an amp with a lot of headroom is going to get you the clarity at low volumes. You cannot possibly go wrong with these speakers.

Yah, they are the bomb. Enough said.Mar 28, 2014

I swapped out for Cherry, very beautiful furniture grade finish. As for the sound, Yah, they are the bomb. Enough said.
Update: I still love the speakers, but the wife may want to kill you. They are not exactly discrete. If you have to choose between these exceptional speakers and the wife, make sure you find a good divorce attorney.
I listen to a lot of deep ambient electronica and these speakers are the only speakers that will literally make you FEEL like yoDec 24, 2014
Jeeeesus! Wow, this is what I call quality my friends. Worth every single penny. My mom, dad, and wife all come into my bedroom/studio and want to hear more from these speakers on a daily basis. I listen to a lot of deep ambient electronica and these speakers are the only speakers that will literally make you FEEL like you're in a different dimension. My entire room gets full of deep bass....not the bass that you just hear in your ears, but the type of bass you feel in your body.
Wow.....wow wow wow!
The Detail WowDec 07, 2014

The Detail and Midrange in these speakers will drive you insane it just sounds so good. I have mine paired with an emotiva xpa 5 but from what ive read an amp is not even necessary in a small room. Movies sound so crisp and detailed rain drops whistling trees you can hear it all just great high end speakers and worth the money if high end audio is a must have.

Depth and RangeJul 18, 2013
Gentlemen, these are the speakers you are looking for, look no further. The RF 7's offer the depth, and a full stage image. I have these Bi-amped to my 2012 Pioneer SC-68 for exceptionally clear sound. When I say clear I mean crisp, realistic sound to the hi notes in a song. Why? These speakers are reference level speakers that provide a full range frequency. But, Gentlemen, you need to learn the definition of DAC and appreciate the sound from uncompressed music. If you fail to un-compress/down-mix your music you will notice that you are missing something. These speakers expose poor quality. You will feel like it is money well spent. I use Sony's Sound Forge software to stretch my favorite music. All my audiophile music files have been converted to 32-bit/192khz. Sony's latest software also allows you to explore 64-bits. So, newbies like I was recently that means that using a thumb drive with a 3.0 USB. I'm transferring music at 6,144 kbps. Now compare that to your old I-pod transfer rate. You will see the evidence.
Once you purchase these speakers with a quality amp, you reached man-hood. Sit back with a cup of Joe or Jack and unwind.
A couple of favorite tunes, men, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers (listen to the Music), Bad Company, The Hollies (Long Cool Woman), Grand Funk Railroad (Feelin' Alright).
